I draw, paint and sculpt. I love clay, portraits, abstracts and life-drawing.
I live in the Tsitsikamma, the southern coastal region of South Africa, flanked by the Tsitsikamma mountain range, which often features in my designs. I spent my childhood gazing up at Witels Peak, the highest mountain in the range, featured in the picture of me on the right and in my Tsitsi Cat series below.
I am a versatile artist and art tutor. I do illustration, cartoon, logo, portrait, landscape and wildlife commissions. My mediums are acrylics, inks, oils, pen, pencil, charcoal, pastels (both chalk and oil), found objects, paper mache, natural clay (dug locally), and I’ve also sculpted in soap stone and wood.
The biggest part of my growth and learning as an artist has come from invaluable constructive feedback from fellow-artists, copying of the works of the Old Masters, lots of portrait work, constant experimenting, and teaching.
My art is marketed mainly at Art-for-All Gallery, both at their premises and online via their website – https://www.artforallgallery.co.za/
